Welcome to my site! My name is Mohammad Al-Rousan, I am a graduate student at Southern Methodist University (SMU) majoring in Data Science with a concentration in machine learning and business analytics. I am a proud graduate of Texas State University receiving a bachelors in International Relations and completed a certificate program in Data Science and Database Management at the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business.
I have five years of professional experience working in the intelligence field for Apple and Google through third party contractors. The reason I pursued a career in intelligence was because of my love for international relations and geopolitics, and I aspired to pursue a degree in law working in an international capacity. Fortunately, I was able to receive admittance into law school, unfortunately I was not able to complete my law degree due to being expelled for poor academic performance. Comically, it was after my first semester I received my expulsion.
At the time of my expulsion, I was 26 years old, I thought my world was crumbling around me and I needed to find a new career. After two months of research and self deliberation, I decided to data science was the field for me. I decided to pursue a career in data science because it has the power to transform industries and improve decision-making through data-driven insights. My background in intelligence has equipped me with analytical skills and a keen understanding of complex information, making data science a natural and impactful next step for me. The ability to leverage data to uncover hidden patterns and predicts future trends excites me, as it aligns perfectly with my analytical mindset. By combining my experience in intelligence with advanced data science techniques, I aim to make meaningful contributions that drive innovation and positive change in the world.
